In there heart of every Pastor, lies the desire to see their church evolve when it comes to the areas of love and fellowship. Today, Pastor Chris & Lady Anderson, saw that desire unfold in their first Family Fun Day! As a member of the Bastrop community and a local observer, I had the pleasure of attending the First Church Fun Day hosted by Pastor Chris Anderson and Lady Anderson at St. Timothy Baptist Church. This event marked a significant moment for this local congregation and the Bastrop community, as it showcased a conscious effort to foster stronger bonds among members and reach out in fellowship.

The Church Fun Day, which one would usually expect to involve the regulars from St. Timothy's congregation, broke the mold by drawing in a diverse crowd from across Bastrop even those who drove by stopped and were fed. This, I believe, signals a positive shift in how religious institutions are perceived — not merely as places of worship but as central, inclusive hubs for community engagement.

The Andersons' initiative also serves to underscore the role of the church in community service and social welfare. Engaging activities like bouncers for kids, tic-tac-tow, cake-walks and so much more. Through events like these, the church steps beyond the conventional Sunday services and into the realm of everyday lives, addressing the holistic needs of its people. Teamwork definitely made the dream work.

Moreover, the event reflected a growing awareness among religious leaders about the importance of outreach and community. In times where church attendance is challenged by the fast pace of life and the digital world, creating such open and engaging environments is essential for maintaining relevance and fostering a new generation of churchgoers. It is in these small, yet impactful ways, that the church can act as a catalyst for community prosperity. A special shoutout to this lady who made this amazing homemade CHILI!

What a well-attended event! Thank you Pastor Chris, Lady Anderson and St. Timothy for the invite to come and fellowship with you all.
